I've made it several months back. I'd say the performance boost doesn't really live up to the expectation (unlike Tiger to Leopard), so if that's your sole reason, don't do it. Snow Leopard does "stabilize" your system in some aspects, esp. native apps.

Yeah I'm sure it won't be a down grade, but from what I've heard it's not worth the $30 bucks. Wouldn't say no to getting it standard though!

I agree that the drop in PPC support kinda sucks but the transition was inevitable. You just cant get the power out of those chips that you can the intel. But 10.5/10.6 play really nicely together so you don't have to totally lose your old PPC mac.

Yeah, i have actually been very good about not upgrading hardware. I bought a new quicksilver back in early 2001ish, lasted me 7 years, blew the power supply, but luckily I bought a used dual G5 before that happened. I still intend to fix the QS thought and put it in the little ones room, it was a great computer. But now more than ever I am feeliing the need to upgrade for adobe's hardware support in the apps.

Yeah , I really don't agree with adobe's decision to drop all support but with the power of the intel's CS4 runs really smooth so I see why they did it.
But old macs will last forever, and with sources like ebay , you can always find even the most obscure parts .

I run Snow Leopard On both my work and personal Machines. I am very happy with it , and think that the little tweaks were worth the $30 , but still think that it could have been done in a Software Update Package.
