Zaang is a place where you can have conversations with other people on a particular area of interest. If you knew everyone in the world personally, you would always have a lot of people to talk to about everything. Since you do not, we created Zaang.
Zaang is free, and that will never change. We do not, however, make any promises that we will not pay you for your contributions from time to time.
A 'World' is where people who share something in common join together for conversation. Picture a universe full of Worlds, each occupied by people who share something in common. All iPhone lovers, all German shepherd owners, all poker players - get it?
Yes, you can. There are a lot of links on the site that bring you to where you can create a 'World'. Here is another one: Create a World.
Think of a topic as a classification of conversations within a 'World'. For example, if there are a lot of people in the 'World of Apple', you may want to create a topic titled 'iPad' to collect all conversations around the iPad.
No. We are here to bring people who share something in common together from around the world. Why do you want to limit the number of insightful comments or brilliant ideas? If this is a feature you really want, tell us here.
You can follow both Worlds and People you are most interested in. When you follow either, content from that World or Person will flow into your feed on your homepage (when you log in).
For example, when you follow Marcus, you will see all popular content that Marcus contributes into your feed. When you follow the 'World of German Shepherds', you will see all popular content from that World in your feed.
Certification is the ultimate sign of mastery within a World. It requires both frequent and insightful participation. It will involve a combination of successful posts, frequent check-ins, as well as support from people you know to prove it! We want to make it clear who knows what they are talking about, and who is just pretending.
If you like something, you should 'like it'. If you dislike something, you should 'dislike it'. If you are impartial, do nothing. This helps us understand which conversations are most popular and helpful.
Get in the habit of checking-in to keep your friends informed where you are on Zaang. They cannot join you if they do not know where you are!
We really want to figure out who knows what they are talking about in each world. Part of becoming a 'Certified Expert' involves having people vote that you know what you are talking about. This is a far better solution than relying strictly on the number of posts, or another similar metric, that is easy to game.
Badges are used to showcase your achievements on Zaang to other users. Some badges are easy to obtain while others remain challenging even for our most dedicated users. Good luck unlocking 'The Midas Touch'.
Bounty Badges are special badges that appear from time to time. If you are the first to unlock it, you will win that 'Bounty', or prize. Some of these will be prizes Zaang provides, and other will be from our sponsors. Either way, they are something to work toward!
The 'Settings' tab on the top of your screen gives you everything you need (if we forgot something, let us know).
You uploaded a picture that was too small. Go to the World you create, click 'Edit Details' (the pencil on the right side of the screen), and try uploading a larger file.
For starters, you can create quality conversations and get followers (i.e., invite people). From there, your World just may take off! If not, you must promote your World and spread it throughout the Internet (don't spam) and attract people like you.
Yes. Go to the 'World of Zaang Support', and fire away! Someone from the team is always standing nearby.
